Black Talk. Healing the Black Family one Conversation at a Time.

Our Mission

At Black Talk, we are dedicated to fostering the mental, emotional, and spiritual well-being of the American nuclear family. Our mission is to create a safe and supportive environment where families can engage in open dialogue, explore their experiences, and cultivate resilience. We strive to empower individuals and families through culturally affirming psychotherapy, holistic wellness practices, and community engagement. By prioritizing the unique needs of the American community, we aim to dismantle barriers to mental health care and promote healing, unity, and growth within families. Together, we nurture strong, healthy relationships that honor our heritage and pave the way for future generations.

True healing considers the whole family, not just the individual.

Our Vision

At Black Talk, we envision a future where every Black individual and family in America has access to high-quality mental health care that is sensitive to the historical and cultural context of their experiences. We aspire to be a beacon of hope and healing, guiding our community toward breaking free from the cycles of generational trauma through a Bible-centred therapeutic approach.

Our vision includes

  • Culturally Competent Care: Providing psychotherapy that honors and understands the unique cultural narratives and challenges Black people face.

  • Community Empowerment: Fostering resilience and strength within families through education, support, and advocacy to dismantle the stigma surrounding mental health.

  • Holistic Healing: Embracing a comprehensive approach to well-being that integrates mental, emotional, and spiritual health, promoting a balanced and fulfilling life.

  • Legacy of Healing: Creating a supportive network that empowers future generations to thrive, transforming the narrative from one of trauma to one of resilience, joy, and collective progress. Through these efforts, we aim to uplift the Black community, ensuring that mental health care is not just a privilege, but a fundamental right for all.
